(no subject)

We've updated MeteoStone, our weather mashup. We try to make global map (based on google's maps), where mashed up data from some government organizations and user's weather data, videos etc.

What do you think about?

view multiple locations?

So I am planning this trip to Barcelona, and would like to use googlemaps, as opposed to google earth, to find the addresses of somelocations and put a little marker point on them on my map.
The problem is, I can't figure out how to look at more than one location on the same map. I have all these saved lcations, and I can look at them one by one, but can't look at them together. Anybody know how to dothis?

Too little time

I took over this community a while back with hopes of being able to get it up and swinging. Unfortunatly with my deployment to Afghanistan my time and access to the web has been pretty limited.

So, in hopes of reviving this dying/dead group I would like to ask for anyone who would like to be added as a maintainer who would have an interest in putting some life back into this community.

Anyone who would like can respond to me here.

Happy Googling to you all.

I know this is a little bit off topic and I apologize. I think that you all would be interested enough that you won't mind, but if you do, O Moderator, I won't be offended if you kill my post.

Hundreds of people making maps.

A Hungarian Witchdog vlogger maps San Francisco's people-geography
San Francisco Treats

A real-estate agent maps houses sold for below assessed value in Boston

A historian maps demolished buildings in Portland, OR

Transfer of admin

I'm ending my affair with LiveJournal. Before doing so, however, it would only be appropriate to transfer administrative control to someone in the community.

The deadline is January 4th. Anybody interested should reply to this post.

good_magician has been kind enough to take up the reins for this community, and is now the maintainer for this community.

It's been fun, guys.

Take care.

Hey everybody. I'm looking for feedback/suggestions for the HotOrNot + Google Maps site I put together. Any thoughts? Thanks.

No, it's sertainly not in Germany :)

Where do you think it is? In which US city?

Update: It's in San-Diego, probably the local architect had some wrong ideas ;)

Burning Man

Identified - Burning Man.

This game did sort of lose its momentum, but I found this one and its a good one I think.

Googlemaps -- phase 2

Well! Good to see that the community is back in action! This, thanks to two little things...

1) New members
2) Google has now released the ENTIRE PLANET (or most of it anyway) for viewing on their satellite view.

Yep. That's right. Your guesses are no longer constrained to the USA.

Oh and one more thing...

When posts have been correctly guessed, they're marked as such on the post. But I discovered this recently...

When you find a place on the maps to view, there's a link in the upper-right hand side of the page titled Link to this page.

Click that link, and it should alter the Address bar on your browser. If you copy and paste that address to the post, people can click on the link, and it will pull the location up in Google Maps, allowing others to browse the general area.

Fun? I thought so!

Happy hunting!
